As we enter the final day of competition in the BMW Championship, the final cut has been made, and only thirty golfers remain.
Unlike most golf tournaments where the final cut is after Friday’s game, in the BMW Championship, there is only one competition day left after the cut. Entering the final day of play, eight strokes separated the leader, Patrick Cantlay, from last place.

The best choice
Entering today, there are only a few reasonable golfers to bet on. Four strokes separated first and 10th place. Someone who overcame even greater lead than that was highly unlikely.
Patrick Cantlay seems to like this course in Delaware. Cantlay won last year’s tournament with a final score of 261. That score was good enough to earn him a playoff with Bryson DeChambeau. After six more holes, Cantlay was crowned champion. He appears to be on the same trajectory, but without DeChambeau on the winning road.
While it is not certain he will win again this year, bettors would be wise to hedge some bets on Cantlay.
Patrick Cantlay to Win (+220)
Cameron Young has hit some great shots on this court and is playing better than his score suggests. Unfortunately, Young had some tough breaks that kept him tied for 14th. While the push to be first may be out of reach, a top 10 finish is a great display for bettors.

Colin Morikawa is yet to claim a win in 2022. He always seems to be out looking after finishing fifth at the Masters Tournament and US Open. Morikawa is currently in sixth place in the tournament, three strokes behind Cantlay. Morikawa came out of a tough round but overall looks great on this track.
With that bad spin, bettors might still think of Morikawa as a dark horse to win the Championship, but he is a smart game.
